'Bouncy' headlamp issue

Featured Replies

I'd noticed my offside (RH) dipped beam bouncing slightly, especially when braking over less than perfect tarmac. I wondered whether something had come loose, or the bulb in my aftermarket xenon kit was failing.

However when I took the lamp out and opened the rear cover I discovered that the actual dipped beam projector unit itself had a fair amount of vertical vertical play, which was causing the unit to wobble and the beam pattern to bounce.

I found a suitable spring to pre-load the unit, taking out the play, but still allowing for beam adjustment.

I'm posting this as I can remember other Briskoda members reporting similar problems with their headlights and put it down to poor quality bulbs, but I'd bet you've got loose projector beam units too.
