Shampoo

Featured Replies

Hi all, can anyone recommend a good car shampoo, I normally use a supermarket bought one but recently I have found it a bit disappointing:thumbup:

Meguiars Gold Class or that Autoglym one's ok and reasonable value if you can find it on offer.

Myself i love cleaning my car and agree with the AG goldclass but use Chemical Guys - Maxi Suds II myself. try out this site - Clean Your Car - car care products UK

If you spend ages polishing and then waxing your car it is important to use a shampoo that does not strip wax...or you are undoing your hard work..

Megs NXT for me

Megs is good stuff, just finished a bottle of it off...

However I find Mer is probably the best shampoo I've used...

Zymol is pretty good too and smells of coconut!... :D

You can get them all at Halfords!

Personally I've used both Autoglym shampoo and the Zymol shampoo, both available from Halfords.

The AG shampoo is not as frothy as most of those that are available, however it smells nice, doesn't strip the wax, leaves a decent shine, and isn't that expensive.

The Zymol shampoo is quite a bit thicker in comparison to the AG shampoo. It's dearer, however it froths up really well and I find its great at lubricating the paintwork, as well as leaving a great shine.

I guess its down to trying them all and see which one you personally prefer. I do love the above though, mainly the Zymol (its actually made by Turtle wax for Zymol).

Yeh but have you washed your windows before??????

This is a very important point and should be considered wisely when deciding on your wash products and process.........

Also worth bearing in mind that it's not the suds that make a good shampoo it's how lubricated it is..........:D

I'd say Duragloss 901 is as good as it gets, lots of suds, well lubbed and lasts a while. Otherwise Shampoo Plus from Megs or Hyperwash is good.

I use Dodo Juice Born to be Mild :D
