Falken Tyres - 225/40R18....good price and service

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Just to share with you; i managed to get new front tyres fitted at the weekend.

Opted for Falken ZE912 XL's in 225/40R18 and got a great price and service.

I can highly recommend SMS Tyres Ltd in Stirling on Back O'Hill Industrial Estate, FK8 1SH.....01786-470779, as the number was hard to get hold off. Ask for Graham is you phone for a quote and check as he did have to order them in for me but with next day delivery.

He did me 2 of the above and FREE tracking for £140 inclusive.

Cheers,

Ste.

I have these tyres on my 17" Pegasus shod 2.0tdi, I think you will be impressed with the grip and I have over 30,000kms on mine. I'm replacing them this week with Hankook Evo V12's, has anyone any knowledge of these ???

Funnily enough - my mates (both own Vectra SRi's) had the Hankooks fitted and from the same garage too - as he's a Hankook dealer primarily. They had had all 4 corners done and i think approx 5k miles in for the guy doing higher mileage.

The tread pattern looks great and quite aggressive, very hard wearing but with decent grip in the wet too. No complaints from either thus far.

I hope this helps.

Just had a pair of Falken 452 (225/40/18) fitted from event tyres for £160.

Took 15 mins to fit and they come to you - great service.

452's 280 quid all in 4 4!!

Cracking price that, nice one

I'm also tempted to go for the V12 Hankooks too, as mentioned. They do get good reviews. It's either those or Ultra Sessantas for me :)

Got the Hankook V12's fitted today. Not that its important but they look very tidy on the rim. I'll have 1000kms on them by the end of the week and I'll post my findings.

I have got about 800kms on the Hankooks now and I have to say they seem absolutely brilliant, we have been getting some torrential rain in Ireland over the last few days and the wet weather grip these tyres offer is amazing they are also very quite. It is also the first set of tyres on my rear axle since changing my geometry to the revised settings, the annoying "whining" noise is gone !! If anyone is unsure about making this change............get it done, it works a treat.
