unwanted delayed wipe

Featured Replies

hi i like many others hate that delayed final wipe that smears the windscreen.

i asked my dealer if it could be removed and they said no. but on here ive seen people mentioning VAG-COM and that this can remove it. Is this VAG-com a piece of equipment a skoda dealer will have?

is it a relatively simple process if i can get this piece of equipment ?

my car used to have three wipes then a delay and a final wipe - but its just come back from the dealer for repairs to stop a tapping noise - and now its doing four wipes and a final wipe - so something has obviously been altered

thanks

You can turn it off if you have maxi-dot.

Otherwise you can turn it off as you suspect.

VAG-COM is effectively the same as the dealers tools so the dealer can turn it off if they really wanted to.

I forget how I did it, but I've done it on a few octy's now, so I suggest finding your local VAG-COM person and getting them to sort it for a couple of beer tokens.

I think that's only on the MY2007+ models - I have maxi dot and fairly sure I don't have that option, along with a load of others that later cars have.
