Pioneer Sat Nav?

Featured Replies

Hi

Can anyone tell me if they have a PIONEER SAT NAV - dealership fitted - I am buying a new SCOUT and have been offered the PIONEER as a cheaper alternative to the Columbus.

If you know of any problems that I should be aware of please let me know - Thanks:thumbup:

Which model of Pioneer? it won't interface with MaxiDot of course and you won't get the "factory" look.

The Pioneer may well need to have other unit's / controllers hidden away somewhere.

If it was me, I would take it with the standard Head Unit and get a Columbus off one of the trusted Ebay sellers. It's a very simple job just to slot it in and your away.

Yep, as above - more details on the Pioneer required. They do some very nice units, but of course they still look aftermarket.

Personally I would think I'd get them to give you the money back that was going on the Pioneer, and put that towards a Columbus if you're after a fitted satnav solution.

ditto - I considered an aftermarket unit having used Alpine for years but because of the location of the stereo in an Octy - high on the dash and very visible, I decided to get a Columbus. That and the fact its works bloody well, sounds excellent and is pretty powerful. There are limitations such as no video out for rear screens for the kids, no pre out for a sub or external amp and of course unless you buy second hand, the cost is astronomical.

Mine came from NAVANDBMWPARTS on the recommendation of Stu and I have to say its a blinder. I would not entertain an Pioneer etc after using the Columbus. Don't panic, take the cheap stereo with the car and then pop back on here where "the guys" can give you some assistance with the Columbus.
