Fitting Ebay double din?

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Just having a problem fitting my ebay double din unit. I cannot get the unit to fit into this:

Car Audio & Security: Car Stereo, Speakers & Subwoofers, Car DVD Players, GPS and CD Changers

Am i correct in thinking that the Golf MK4 surround will fit the octivia MK1?

The surround fits into the cubby hole perfectly its just the actual dbl din unit that will not fit into the Golf MK4 cage!!!!!!!!!!! The cage its a tad to small.

When I got my unit, it didnt come with a cage, so I got a fascia and cage from ebay, the links are in my thread

The cage fitted fine into the empty slot but found the fascia surround a little too big for the unit and wouldnt allow the unit to fully close back into itself.

I had to use a small cutting tool to take some plastic off the top and bottom of the fascia surround in order to fit it. After I had removed probably 4 ish mm from top and bottom it was fine.

I dont know if the Golf one is similar as no experience of it I am afraid. From the picture you have shown is it a whole plastic unit that sits in the empty space? if so, I can see how you may have a problem getting it to fit, hence why I went down the route of the sperate cage and fascia surround.

Which HeadUnit did you get?
