Decent mud flaps for the Superb

Featured Replies

Does anyone know where you can get decent mud flaps for the Superb?

In typical Skoda fashion the dealer fit ones are so small, that they hardly seem worth fitting. :rotz: I'm not after huge rally flaps, just ones that would at least prevent some road dirt from being spead down the side of the car!!

I only fitted the OEM mudflaps to my Superb due to some paint missing on the lower front wheel arch, does the job nicely and I hate mud flaps but they have grown on me, they are small enough to not look too out of place but also I have noticed how much crap they stop coming up the side and rear end of the car:

Wouldn't want any bigger ones as I think it would look more like a rally car but I am sure you can find some aftermarket / universal ones on eBay?

yep - I've got them too and completely agree. The front ones don't look very big, but it's amazing how clean they keep the sides of the car. I've seen bigger VW rear mudflaps on Passats, but they are just too big. As I remember, pretty easy to fit without raising the car .

I was slightly annoyed with the fitting kit to be honest, there seemed to be plenty of fixings that could have been used on the wheel arch liner and instead you had to create 'new' holes for a couple of fixings, just seemed like a missed design point to me..........:rotz:

Thanks for the responce Baker21. That's a fantastic looking Superb which I had seen a couple of pics before on another thread. I can see you have lowered her, but by how much? The lower ride hide will help reduce the amount of much being thrown up, particularly at the rear of the car. On a normal ride height like mine, I'm still not convinced that it will prevent a great deal of much and spray being thrown out the back. This only matters as I have to pull a caravan from time to time and its amazed me how much crap covers the front of it from the rear tyres. Going back to your car those wheels look great, I always thought the Superb would suit 18s and there's a mile of space between my 17s and the wheel arch. I know that on the last mk1's sports suspension was offered as an option. Would have quite liked to play about with mine, but as its a company car it really has to remain standard. One last thing what does OEM mean? I just can't work it out!!

Thanks for the kind words and it's not bad for the 165k mileage and as yours it used to be a company car up until 85k.........

How much has it been lowered? Good question, I have it on coilovers but the rear adjuster have been removed so it's as low as it will go, the fronts are wound down nearly all the way but I don't know an official figure I am afraid........:o

Mine is running 19's and it sit's nicely but having seen some running 20's it looks a little better, I think?

For the money it's worth trying the OEM mudflaps as you may be surprised and you will always be able to sell them onto another forum member on here?

OEM - Original Equipment Manufacturer...........

Here's a front pic just to complete the look:

Thanks again Baker21. OEM.... I was racking my brains all day on that one!! I had meant to say 19's aswell as 18's in my previous thread as I thought your wheels looked pretty massive. Nice colour aswell - the sahara beige I think? What tyres are you running on those 19's and do they rub ever? Impressive mileage mines on 101K at 3 years old and will probably have around 128K when I come top buy and sell her next July. Been a great car and I think now that I will offer her up for sale on this forum first.

No problem..........

Sahara Beige indeed, not my choice but when buying a second hand car sometimes you don't have the luxury.........:o

I am currently running Falkens all round and 215/35/19 on the fronts and 235/35/19 on the rears as they are wider wheels, also with no rubbing, unless fully loaded and driving like an idiot down pot holes and bumps..........:D

Sure you will sell it on here if and when you come to sell.........

I managed to find a pic showing the only way I can get my car to sit lower.... by loading out the boot!!

Works for me mate...........
