Featured Replies

hi all first post been here a short period and really could do with your knowledge and help.

basically ive got a 53plate fabia vRS and yesterday got in it and the powersteering light was on and i had no assitance.but with this light staying solid i also have my traction light my abs light handbrake light and seat belt like flashing every few seconds....and ideas what it could be? got it at the garage now but its coming up with an ecu error for the airbags?

thanks in advance guys

your first post - welcome:thumbup:

From your description it sounds like it could be the dreaded electrical gremlins of water ingress in to the loom near the fuse box or dodgy earthing. Not 100% sure though, but your description of so much going wrong makes it a possibility.

There is also the possibility that the power steering fault is causing the rest of the issues as the battery drain has become very high.

I'm sure there is a thread dealing with both these somewhere on here, but I couldn't find them at the moment.

Try an advanced search in the Fabia Technical Guides and Fabia I forums only

thanks for the welcoming and your reply.are either of these problems big jobs? ive only had the car for 2 weeks and this is the second thing to go wrong.the other problem is the door panel on the passenger side where the electric window comes up extremely slow and stops at times.not much luck with Skoda atm:(

I would get your battery checked out sharpish, even more so IF it is the original

Kwik Spit will do it whilst you wait

I am not a tech, but to save you reading a thousand or so threads, get the battery checked

hey mate.battery and alternator was tested at my local garage and its putting out enough 14. something he said to me.

Try turning off the ignition and starting it again. Mine occasionally brings up the powersteering light but if I switch the engine off and start it up again, it clears itself.
