HELP AGAIN PLEASE! Oct VRS problem

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I posted one the other day about my octavia 1 vrs. I was driving really rough with a really bad eggy smell. I had some suggestions that it might be a coil pack, I have changed a coil pack and the eggy smell has gone and the engine is not quite as rough idling but driving the car is still so rough its undriveable, the engine warning light has now come on also..........any suggestions??

You need to get the fault codes which might help.

Ask on here if there's anyone near you with VAGCOM or a code reader?

Good luck with it

Did you definately replace the right coilpack?

When you remove them one by one with the engine running the duff one will be the one that makes no difference to the engine note as you remove it.

Really needs a fault scan or VAG-Com as the rough running and management light could be any one of a dozen things.. .throttle body, MAF, fuel filter/pump, split hoses to name just a few

It's not unheard of that if you only replace 1 coil pack, that another one goes. I've also been told that it is good practice to replace all 4 if one goes.
