traction control prob.

Featured Replies

Hi all, new to all this so may be a bit rusty, so bear with me if you will.I have an 02 octavia 4x4 estate that has a prob with the traction control coming on when I take a right turn at a bit of pace. The car has been lowered by 2 inches and has been fitted with an Audi TT 4x4 quick rack (not as easy as on the VRS, so give a call if need help), but I dont think that eather of these are the cause of the prob.I have cleaned the sensor and the ring of dirt but still the prob remains. The car dosnt do it when I turn left hard and this is what has got me baffled, so If anybody has any ideas or had a similar prob then I would love to hear from you.

Many thanks Martin4x4t.

Check the wiring going to the sensor isn't getting caught on something when you turn the wheels right

sometimes problems with the MAF can make the TC light come on too

Could it be that the steering angle sensor has got out of position when the rack was changed , it may think it has a turn to one side when it is going straight. There is a procedure to correct it on the Ross Tech Wiki

hth, Dave
