how to replace 2way switch?

Featured Replies

My name is Ryan, I've searched the forum but i cant find what im looking for. I have a problem with my ds 2 way, the ds switch sticks sometimes it dont go down/up. so i brought 2way switch off ebay only cost £11 from 1998 vw passat.

i have a 2002 02 fabia. also since i had the passenger windows switch changed the one click windows dont work. yet ive reset it and can here it click yet from my side or passenger side it wont do one click.

any ideas on how to remove plastic ds int grab handle? and anything on passenger one click switch?

i do have one more fault intermittanly when i unlock the car via fob the boot wont open straight away unless i open the rear door?

cheers

the upper section of the pull handle unclips, then with a torch and a long thin screwdriver, lift up the top of the handle, push the screwdriver through, with the torch you will see a clip, push the clip with the screwdriver, then the top cover should lift off

cheers got it off but the part the seller off ebay advertised wasnt the part sent lol :( well the top bit is identical but the bottom half is two big and has the wrong connector. Not sure why they listed it as part IJ3959857A When it wasnt. Awaiting a reply. since ive took it out of its casing the bloody driver side window switch dont seem to be playing up as much now not sure whats going on anymore. also cant figure out the boot problem. when you unlock the car sometimes u cant open the boot straight away i have to open the rear ds door unless i use the lever in the front. sometimes the boot opens first time others it dont. so not sure if it the handle in the boot? solenoid? electrics or what.

Boot lock-- First thing I would check the locking post on the tailgate floor isn't loose or needs adjusting.

Assuming you can hear the solenoid operating does not mean the solenoid pin is ending up in the correct unlock position, you would have to take the tailgate trim off get inside the boot and watch the solenoid operate as you click the key, check the solenoid and other working parts are fixed correctly to the bodywork as well.

I've had this problem on a SEAT and the solenoid was operating but bouncing back into the lock position, I cured it by using washers as spacers on the solenoid mounting screws. It's difficult to work out what lever should do what but after a couple of hours I had the problem sussed.
