differnces 2001-2006?

Featured Replies

hi i'm after buying a octavia mk1 vrs and just been to look at a 55 plate 2006 car and the dealer said they made changes to the car engine brakes etc revised items from the other years?

is this true?

can anyone tell me the differences for the vrs's from 2001 and 2006?

Revised coil packs..... dont know of anything else

Not sure if some of the earlier ones would have had the pre-facelift front and rear lights. Also the really early (European) ones had 16" alloys like the estate versions.

Other than the coil packs only the options list was changed (ESP and Sat nav joined the options list from around end of 2003/early 2004 iirc).

No engine, chassis or bodywork (front and rear lights etc.) changes were made during the vRS's production life.

He/she is telling a porky!!!!

Steve:)

I've got an 06 plate mk1 vRS and no, everything is the same as far as I'm aware. The only thing I have noticed is that my boot lock has a blanking plate, earlier models I have seen don't.

Rear wiper blade housing is different LOL!

Does makes about a 10 BHP difference.

Oh yep and the rear washer nozzle is a different design as well

Good point that. I can't seem to find a replacement anywhere other than with the dealer which is a 30 mile round trip. :thumbdwn:

Does anyone know where these are available from?

As for the 10 BHP, I always thought that was because mine was black. Does this mean I now have an extra 20bhp, 10 for the colour and 10 for the rear wiper.
