Interior lights problem

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm having a problem with my Octavia II interior lights. Few weeks ago the little spring inside the light switch (close to rear view mirror) came off. I opened the unit and repaired the switch. No lights. Next, I discovered that fuse number 15 (7,5 A) was blown. Replaced it, still no ligths. The rear interior light is dead also and there is a "blown bulb"- warning light at the instrument panel. I called local Skoda service and they told me that the problem might be with electronics that control the interior lights. Any ideas where to look at these "electronics"?

Sorry KR, I can't help but things were much easier in the days when the interior lights didn't need 'electronics' to control them.

No doubt someone here will be able to help though.

You will have to get a replacement, mine did the same went to the scrappy's and got one for a squid mine only had the single light at first but now I have the map ones as well, came out a Golf, but you can get them from nearly any skoda seat or vw and a 2 min swap over

Thanks for the tip, but I think the switch/light-box is ok. The switch inside is quite simple affair, just metal slide and spring (no electronics there). I'll reopen it and clean the contacts. BTW, I have the map lights also.
