I caught the new "Superb" add on the box last night.

Very subtle, dry, and funny - well it made me laugh...

It both caught and held my attention for a damn sight longer than "fishing" did.

Anybody else catch it ?

Saw it on Wednesday evening; not bad. Wifey thought it quite funny.

Must admit the Peugeot 206 ad make me laugh all the time.

Pardon me for mentioning it, but isn't it getting a bit sad to be downloading car adverts from the web because you own the same make of car? :p

When you think about how much time, thought and effort goes into making good

adverts these days, it seems a shame for them to go to waste by not being seen.

So bring on the downloads!

Besides which, I can guarantee it's a lot more time, thought and effort than goes

into making the TV programmes around the adverts...

Hmmm - just downloaded it and watched it. I have to say the idea of "may gain you more respect than you think" is about as weird as the running away from the cars in the previous ad campaign. I think the rest of the public will just watch them and go "huh?" in the same way I did, but maybe I'm wrong. And the Superb (well the boot lid) is on screen for approximately 6 seconds.... how does that work?

I think you're right, but that's why they do it. If it shocks or

confuses you or makes you laugh, chances are it'll bug you.

This leads to you thinking about the product more, and possibly

even buying it.

For example - B&Q adverts are always offering something

reduced in price. But can you remember what?

It's a bit like the old VW Polo ads where people came over bad once they had seen the price on a poster. Clever marketing when you don't have to actually show off the product...

Well I did download it in the end. However it's NOT why I'm here. I'm here for the chat, the help and advice, and tips to make my car go faster and be more fun to drive. I couldn't care less (sorry koda fans) that it's a koda. It just happens to be one because that's what was available at the right price point when I needed to exchange my last car.

I'd do the same if there was a similar forum for any car. Having said that there are a great bunch of girls and guys on here - it's the best such community I've joined yet (not that that's many).
