H7 HID Xenon Kits

Featured Replies

May have been asked before but I did a search and nothing thrown back, even though I'm sure I've seen something...

Anyhow - a mate at work has a H7 Xenon HID kit he's had on his Mk1 Leon going spare and is wanting £40 for it. He's swapped it out for a revised/improved kit that gives a better spread and reduced scatter with the Mk1 Leon's reflector lights.

Any thoughts on whether this would be worth fitting to our Octy 2, bearing in mind it's got projector lights and, being a 4x4 already has headlight washers but no self-levelling?

I say go for it. I miss my xenons from my 182 and the hid's i had in both my fiesta st's

Gonna get a set for the fabia at somepoint

Just be prepared to deal with the bulb warning system.

At £40 if you get pulled then you could throw it as it's no more expensive than standard upgraded bulbs.

Obviously legal issues etc etc apply.

Oh and while you're at it - go give youe Leon owning mate a slap.

It doesn't matter how "scatter proof" or "designed for reflector lenses" the HID kits claim to be - they should never be fitted into reflector lenses as they simply do not work correctly and do nothing but blind other road users.

Don't worry I already have but will hold off doing again until he's coughed up the goodies :D

He did change them to help though after the beam shape looked wrong againsta wall so he is trying...

Back on topic though... from the above I may well give it a go - just need to check if the ballasts will fit inside the Octy 2 headlight unit to avoid drilling the covers.
