New Car Delivery

Featured Replies

Hi All

I am new on here and look forward to the experience.

I have a Scout 1.8TSI on order and expect delivery in the next few weeks my deal includes "free delivery in England". As the dealer is over 150 miles from me I intend that the dealer should deliver it. Could anybody speculate whether "free" delivery means driven delivery or transporter delivery, if it's driven do I haggle to get it on a transporter or do I trust the dealer to deliver with lots of TLC.

Thanks

Yes, local dealer was way out on price.

It will be driven, doubt they will trailer it. My dealer would not even throw in a freebie as I want to collect mine.

If I were you, I'd jump on a train and collect it yourself.

i second that, they wont give a **** about the car at all, try picking it up yourself, nothing like it:rolleyes:

...and thats a 3rd from me !!

Make the effort to collect; or stand and watch the guy who delivers it step out the car and flick off his sarnie crumbs ( or worse ) all over your new cars interior !!

Unless there's more detail, delivery usually means from the manufacturer to the dealer. It used to be part of a long list of necessary extras added on to the price to give the equivalent of an 'on the road price' that most people (and dealers) quote for unless requested otherewise.

Im driving from north yorks to dartford to collect mine.

and id rather that than someone else be the first to drive my car.

got a tank of petrol thrown in the deal for it.

Yes, ask for a full tank. He will be fine with it.
