I got webasto on my new octavia, but it came with out remote control that the instruction book illustreted i downloaded from the norwegian skoda home page. I aske the dealer and he sead that it came only with remote control on the superbe. And the question, if i got a remote control, will thise worke or is my webasto not fitted with possible remote control.

Sorry for my bad english:)

I think you're asking about the car heater that will heat up the engine in extremely cold weather while it is parked.

This is not fitted in UK Skodas (even as an option as far as I am aware) so this forum may not be able to help you. Are there any other cold-climate forums (in Germany or other Scandanavian countries) that are more likely to use this?

Chris

It will probably not work. I asked about this before ordering my new Yeti (considered a 140CR) and was told that the webasto unit had to be upgraded for use with a remote control.

It would cost about 10.000 NKr (1050 GBP) extra. Remote control is only factory fitted with the Superb in Norway.

Webasto dealers here will add remote functionality to an existing unit for £150, assuming it is a webasto fuel burning unit.

It should be simple to do as it's only an aux heater :)

Try either AutoTeam AS or Kolberg Caspary Lautom AS - Webasto komfort.

I used to have a Rover 75 with a Webasto FBH fitted as standard. It was set up, however, to operate automatically in cold weather to help warm the cabin more quickly. I got a 12v remote control switching unit from Maplins (an electrical spares store in the UK, for the benefit of the OP) and spliced it in to the controller so that I could pre-heat the car before setting off for early shift during the winter.

You might be able to find someone who can help you in an MG-Rover forum, as there are quite a few 75s / ZTs with these units fitted in various states of configuration. I think higher-spec models had some form of timer or control to run the blowers as well as the FBH. The setup I had just ran the FBH, but I got hot air instantly when I got into my car!

Hope this helps.
