Hi, hope this is in the right place, but am loosing the will to live. I need a rear or pair of rear bulbs for the ocy. tail / fog combined as one has blown. the ones in halfords do not fit despite the book saying so. please can someone help before i do something horrible.

Rear tail/fog light bulbs for octavia are 21/4w. Are you positive one has blown as when the fogs are switched on, only one side gets brighter, the other stays the same.

I had trouble finding the right bulbs in shops so I bought a pack of ten off ebay like these

ahh so the ocy only has one fog light? thank god. i think the right hand side lights up when rear fog is on but the left doesnt. . . that might explain the trouble i have been having. thankyou so much!!

I've heard that you can tinker with vag com to get both sides to light up, not 100% sure though.

Not with the Mk1 Octy unfortunately. You need to run an extra wire to the tail light cluster and join it in to the wiring for the drivers side fog light.
