Current Budget / Midrange Tyres of Choice

Featured Replies

I've got a couple of tired (geddit??) good year F1's on the rear and a couple of cheapys on the front...

( Prestivo sport??? No... me either) they are appalling in the wet. easy to wheelspin even in 3rd gear.

I had my eye on the Falken 912's for my next set... If apOgee is using 'em thats enough of an endorsement for me...

These are the same tyres we have on the wife's Fabia. They currently have about 4mm tread and I find the grip on damp roads to be less than 'incredible', although to be fair they are a good tyre in other respects.

I'm not saying that they are the best tyre for the fabia, was just saying that the michelin pilot exaltos were made specifically made for the clio 182.

But the fabia and the clio are two totally different cars so whats good for one isn't always good for another.

Personally, I'll be getting Uniroyal Rainmasters for my Vrs.

I'm flattered, but I only put them on in the first place because Decron had some! :D

Has anyone got any opinions on Dunlop SP Sport Maxx tyres for the vrs?

Dunlop is a type of cheese in some parts of the country - nuff said IMO

LOL

They are good tyres!

Interesting read for me, minus the standard tyres that came with the car (and some hardcore budget for around europe in 2006) ive always ran the T1-S then T1-R's and never had a problem, the wear rate on the front is pretty high, but I believe this is due to the weight over the front, rather than back.

I find the car stops very well, and seems to go pretty well with T1-R's on, so if its not broke dont fix it, and I will be sticking with these me thinks :)

Barum Bravuris £43 +VAT. had them on for a while and a great budget tyre

I had these on my old estate for a while and they were good tyres( Barum are czech i think )
