Vrs 57 tdi 170 limited edition???

Featured Replies

My dad has just bought a 57 plate vrs tdi saloon (with only 12,000 on the clock) - all good and im very jealous. but he's been told its a limited edition, but that's all. the only thing hes been told it there is a box on the consol (near the gear lever!) Is this right - sorry i cant give you any more information.

He's also getting a tow hitch put on (i bow my head in shame!!!) and was quoted £700+ from falmouth garages skoda - in cornwall! Sounds like they have an extreamly high hourly rate - as an independent garage quotes £270 inc vat for a removable hitch! How can this be so different in price!?

Cheers,

S

Note sure the LE was available at that age. What colour is it, all Limited Editions were Anthracite (Metallic Grey) and had special Leather Seats which were numbered.

£700 for a tow bar is extortionate

It's silver in colour, so not the current SE and yes £700 is way off the mark - bloody stupid price really!

Are they the Skoda dealers at Emmett Point ?

Sorry wheres that?

Sorry a bit of a joke...

My ex was from Falmouth and Emmett Point was a fictitous place created to send tourists on a wide goose chase around Cornwall. Emmett is Cornish slang for tourist or non Cornish.

In other words, sounds like your dad is being taken for a ride at that price.

As for the box, mid 2007 onwards, the VRS was upgraded in spec to 18 inch alloys, a "Jumbo Box" ie centre armrest, had red brake calipers instead of green and climate control. They were previously optional.

Hope i have been of some help, just couldn't resist the Emmett poke...

I think the last limited ed was the run out of pre face lifted models, with the 170cr engine, in diesel format.

I have just had a towbar fitted and cost 250 incl single electrics, number plate and bumper protector. It wasnt the cheapest one around but they seemed to know what they were doing, and this was the firm my local Skoda dealer call in to fit most of thiers.

Beware some fitters seem to think its ok to splice straight into the electrics with no relay protection etc.
