I got a leak too......

Featured Replies

Well after a week of ownership it seems my vRS has decided to leak from the rear passenger door seal, so i have got it booked in with the dealers on Tuesday lets see if they can fix it?!

I have to park my car outside, so is there anything i can do until Tuesday to protect it from the rain getting in? ATM i have jammed a rag along the bottom of the door? will this do ?D? :D

Anyone had any experience with Station-Garages? Skoda dealers?

Ah well i suspose i needed to have the leaky door seal, it's makes me feel like i fit right in :thumbup:

Cheers - Dave

Just open the back doors every morning if it's been raining and let the water out. As long as it isn't backed-up too badly, the water won't leak in. The trouble is that the gap between the drain hole and the sill is quite narrow, and the surface tension of the water stops it draining properly unless the door's actually open...

Newspaper under the mats in the footwell will soak up and water already in the car - just leave it there for a day or two!

If it's the door carrier seal that's gone then some black tape.. gaffa or eletrical, along the bottom of the window, covering the part where glass meets seal, stops allot of water getting in to start with.

Make sure if you decide to do that, that the tape doesn't touch the paint... :(

Opening the doors should be enough. I think my own fix is failing after several years, but for the time being, letting it drain after it rains has stopped any water getting in the car...

Do you mean Station Garage at Ewhurst?

I bought the Wifes' fabia from this dealer and after about a month one of the rear windows detached itself from the clip of the winder mechanism, they popped the clip back in, but after that I noticed the bottom of the door card was damp. The cause of the leak was due to the carrier being distorted, which I assume happened when they put the clip back in. I resealed the carrier to the instruction on VRSTU's site and it's never leaked since.

Apart from that I think Station Garage are generally ok.
