Hello all i used to own a slr years ago but decided to give a digital one a shot, Got it yesterday and heres some piccys, i know the first few are lacking on exposure but tried to get a bit better further down, all advice welcome to a newby

OK, I'm no pro but you have lost the basics. 1st of all, most of the pics have too much going on, you need something in them that draws the eye into the picture. 2nd use the rule of thirds, if you have something you want to take a pic of, let it occupy 1/3 of the pic, this rule can be broken but usually goes. The top pics, I'm not sure what has happened to the colour balance in the 1st couple but they are far too blue. Sometimes all you need is a good crop. I think the best pic is the one of the dog.
