Is 1.9 tdi PD available on new octavias?

Featured Replies

Our new elegance will be factory built as we are having several extras. The salesman told us on the phone yesterday that the 1.9 was being withdrawn and may not be available. We had originally ordered the 1.6 dpf but I found out yesterday that dpf is completely unsuitable for us, so changes have to be made. We have owned an octavia with a 1.9tdi and it was the perfect car for us and we would like another, rather than petrol

It will have to be 1.8 tsi if we can`t get the 1.9 tdi but I don`t understand why the 1.9 is on the skoda uk site if being phased out

Can someone tell me the real situation please?

They are no longer making them with the 1.9 , but there's quite likely to be a few already made sat in a car park somewhere in Skoda's stock system.

Of course you won't be able to get the choice of extras , just what's on there , so you'll need to decide what's more important.

Have you considered a 1.4 TSI? More power than the TDIs and decent economy too.

The skoda site says its still available to order, so I dont see why you shouldnt be able to get one.

Could you explain why would you want a PD over a CR anyway? CR is quieter, more refined, more linear in its power delivery etc..........in short its the netter engine.

1.4TSi - more "power"??????

Thats what I was thinking to......Not sure given the Nms on the new CRs TDI power ever time. Go for the 1.6 CR and just go for a longer drive once every couple of day to remove the soot for system, thats got to be the easier way...Has'nt it?:snail::wmann3:

1.4TSi

122 hp 200 nm 0-60 9.7 sec Price £14145

Combined mpg - 44.8

1.6CR

105 hp 250 nm 0-60 11.8 sec Price £15955

Combined mpg - 62.8

You would have to do a pretty high mileage to pay back the £1800 price difference

Skoda's website is very frequently out of date though

No DPF.

If you are doing lots of short journeys they can cause issues.

Yes but he was looking for a 1.9 PD not a 1.6.........

Confused as brochures show them listed.

I have to ask this as I am a bit puzzled:

Here in Germany since 2007 all 1,9 PD TDIs had DPFs and you could no longer get them without. Is/was that different in the UK???

1.4 tsi would be a better bet mate, no hassle with dpf more powerful also and almost as economical, a little cheaper to buy also...

If you can't get the 1.9, go for the VRS ;)

Yes, here in the UK right up to the 1.9PD being discontinued at the facelift the 1.9PD was supplied with no DPF. For the Octy, the only car upto that point supplied with a DPF was the 2.0PD 4x4/Scout and the vRS 2.0PD.

hmm, I'm picking up my brand new facelift 1.9TDI tomorrow and nobody mentioned anything about them being discontinued when I ordered mine :mmm:
