Open windows !!!

Featured Replies

I know this has been covered before, but I can't find the answer I need. When I came down this morning all my windows where partialy open and the inside of my car was saturated wet. I know there is auto open/close feature on the windows but I have always been aware of this. Is it possible that the windows have come down themselves through the night with some kind of glitch because I only remember locking my car normally. All answers appreciated.

Keys in back pocket or tight jeans by chance?

If you have auto wipers and maxidot, set rain closure

Happened to me whwen SWMBO was complaining the doors were locked and was tugging the handle. I pressed the unlock repeatedly and the windows opened as well as the doors. It was also raining.:rotz:

No help to you but shows glitches do occur.

Your scenario also happened once while I was camping in a Passat B5.5. Never recurred.

Any idea what code to set for the auto window close feature. I assumed it was turned on by default, but after checking it my car doesn't close the windows while parked when I spray water on the rain sensor. There's a timing belt service coming up, so I'll add it to the list of things to be done.

This has happened to me 3 times over a period of 3.1/2 years .The car was parked the windows were definitely closed I car checked later in the evening everything was ok. Next morning all the windows were half down. When I checked the car in the evenings I did not have the key with me and it was out of range if it was accidentally pressed during the rest of the evening.

Nope, keys left hanging in my front door (house) and I dont have auto-wipers but thanks for the input.

Well for those interested, you can disable the doorlock and/or remote from operating the windows and sunroof.

Disabled my door lock via VCDS today.

I have had this, but suspect it was due to the key fob being crammed into a key box :(

I wouldn't want it disabled as I like the feature, I'm hoping it was a once off !! I'm just trying to see how common it is, I'm going to start using the spare key fob just in case the original is going t**s-up due to excessive use (280,000kms).
