Is it really i heard the Road Angel 2 was

b2 Every day mate... You can put it in your pocket when you leave your car! It's got the most accurate database...

Should I carry on?

B2 for me also

hate the way the b2 rattles though, and the serial cable to connect it to the pc - WHY???

Have a Road Angel 2 myself and think it's great never let me down. Personally I prefer the blue display over green.

Only thing IMHO they need to do to improve it, is notification of the speed limit you are in when it warns you of a camera coming up.

RA2 now only comes with 6 months subscription and there is no lifetime option for

I have a few questions on this topic (if that's OK?)

What distance do these divices operate to? How far away does it notice a mobile speed trap? Can it see round corners? How often do you need to update it and do updates just cover the fixed sites? Does using these things mean that you can bomb about pretty much 100% sure you wont get any bother? Do they cover cars with lasers?

Sorry noob on this but would find one useful due to the long motorway trips down A1 and M6.

B2 for me as well

I read from a magazine review that the B2 does't detect laser's etc from the mobile plods, is this true as this was the only thing putting me off or can you buy a laser detector as an 'add on'

b2 comes with a laser detector.

it is useless cos you are done long before any detector as spotted it.

b2 has an interface for diffusser control if you actually dont wish to get done.

walkie ... if you have made up your mind from the mag review why dont you go and buy a roadangle.?

RA2 can be set to distances of 250M. 500M & 1KM, plus has the great feature of Speed Distance Sensitivity, where it doubles the advanced warning at 50MPH and over. Also alerts of Schools, Backspots, Congestion Zone which are all configurable.

It does warn of mobile speed traps, as in the known locations where these are normally situated, there is a place near me where the Police normally park with speed gun out of the back of the unmarked white Tranny Van that I get warnings for but he's only ever there once or twice a month so debatable if useful or false alarm.

As said by other posters Laser Alert is built in but is not much use, you will be very lucky to pick it up in time to slow down not to be done, normally it would just confirm you've been caught. You can in theory pick up the scatter from the car in front being targeted but again you'll be done before you've had chance to react.

Not a lot of use on the M6, don't know of the A1 areas, tells you about SPECS Camera's on Thelwall Viaduct, don't remember picking anything else up from Junc 21 to end of M6 via Toll Road though.

As for bombing about 100% sure you won't get any bother, that is not what these units are for  They are to warn of potentail Blackspots and make you aware of Speed Limits and are a Road Safety Device not a licence to speed. If used in this way you can still get done by other methods, marked or unmarked Cars for example.

Which is not very good, its much better to wire in your diffuser seperatly (I have LRC100) - that way you get audiable and visual alerts and the option of an isolation switch (mine installed under dash).

it controls the LRC100 so in what way is it not good?

what origin don't tell you is that the lazer part and also if you've got the LRC100 or LE30 (like me) doesn't actually work until the device has locked onto your GPS position.

And thats why I've got my LE30 as a seperate system.

it controls the LRC100 so in what way is it not good?

I was told by an auto electrician who fitted my bosses that the interface lead only gave the LRC100 power, there was no audiable or visual feedback from the unit to the B2 screen.

Also independantly wiring it will allow it to still function without the B2 in its cradle should you leave it at home or have a mishap with it.

I installed mine independantly when he told me this, also having a switch is a big reason to wire it seperatly. You wont get that option if you use the LRC Interface cable.
