Just had a phone call from mate who has a 1.9tdi octavia , i have the 1.9tdi fabia elegance he said that there are two types of servicing on his car , the standard one every 10000 miles or you can put in more expensive oil of a different type and that puts it up to a variable service is the variable service avaliable on the fabia???? the car is a 56 reg with 27000 miles .

No, Fabia is on fixed servicing. There are additional sensors and software required for variable which the Fabia does not have.
