Erratic heating

Featured Replies

The heater on my car is working very erratically, there is nothing wrong with the blower, but the heating itself it can be set to 22 that's in the middle of the dial sometimes it gets hot then others cold could it be the thermostat at fault.when I fitted my MFD I removed the air-vent from the top of the dash and there was 2 wires one went to the hazard switch but I cannot for the like of me find where the other one goes, it has a small circuit board attached and I was wondering if this could have something to do with the heating, its just hanging loose at the moment, could one of you remove your centre air vent and take a pic of where this other wire connects to thanks in advanceThe fluid levels are bang on the top mark and there are no leaks, and the radiator fan kicks in when needed

If not, at least you're bumped back up to the top! :)

In pic 7 storage box removed there is a cable going into the right hand side of the air vent tubing could this be the location. Please could one of you learned gents please have a look for me The cable splits about 6 inches down one part goes to the hazard warning the other i dont know

Hi skippy41 -

Can I ask you when you noticed the cold air? I'm finding with my Octavia II that when I take corners (left or right) the air goes from hot to cold for an instant. Once I've completed the sharpish cornering the air is back to hot again? just wondering if my problem could be down to some connection which is loose and moves when taking these corners?

It just goes cold for a few Min's even when sitting still, I have never noticed when going around corners

Thanks for replying...I'm guessing it must be something like a lose connection to fan that comes looser when taking corners....must send question out on seperate thread.

Thanks,
