Do a you tube search for "Skoda Yeti" then look for .........................................................................................................................................Autogrup Constanta - emisiune Skoda Yeti CTV partea 1......................................................uploaded within the last week.tom

Hope thats the one!

Thats the one, thank you gentlemen. It almost looks sinister or cute perhaps with the wandering eyes turning one way then the next. Perhaps it is alive, maybe even with a personality. I could just imagine its eyes following the ladies crossing the road at pelican crossings. Then a single fog could wink at a good-looking one.

Are the fog lights split into two halves, upper and lower and if so what are the separate functions?

The upper part of the fogliht is the daylight driving light and the bottom is the actual fog light.

Just to expand on Agerbundsen's info, in the UK only the Elegance comes with the daytime running lights (DRL) and cornering fog. Optional on SE; note DRL part of Light Assist. Unfortunately neither of these are available in the S or E spec. From what I have seen though the DRL bulb is still fitted but without function on SE spec without Light Assist.

Tthank you Agerbundsen,

Is the switching on and off of the the day time running lights, voluntary or are they manually activated?

DRL can be turned on or off via Maxi-dot or by using the indicator arm (pull back then up or down for on or off). Note DRL is front only no rear lights.

Many thanks to The Plumber,

I will be happy to use the daylight running lamps on the road I often use dipped beam on the road during the day anyway particularly in rain or under a darkened sky but if it was a compulsory and non elected illumination then I would have sort ways to extinguish them when on my access tracks. Its a very long story!!

Anthony, Plumber answered your question. BUT i have one for you: I thought that in the UK dipped beams were legally required when you need to have your windshield wipers on?That means changing from DRL to dipped mains when it rains.

Light Assist works in conjunction with the wiper system, if like me you have a traditional wiper system the lights come on after selecting permanent wipe (not intermittent). Similar set up if you have rain sensor wipers.

From the hand book

Rain lights

If you switch on the windscreen wipe in the operation rain sensor* for longer than 10 seconds or in the operation permanent wipe (position 2 or 3) ⇒ page 63 switching on for longer than 15 seconds, the side lights and low beam are switched on automatically. The light switches off if the windscreen wipe is in operation rain sensor* for more than 4 minutes or is not switched on in the operation permanent wipe.

You are correct but 95% of drivers here in this part of Wales do not appear realize this and a sizable minority in the rest of GB. If fact I could almost go as far as saying that one can tell the nationality of the driver here when it either is raining or poor light by wether or not they have their headlamps on or not. Their seems to be a marked reluctance to switch on the headlamps in poor conditions even fog during the day. I even get flashed to remind me that I might have mine on, amazing. The police do nothing about it either. I remember years ago when the Law was introduced, I forget the year but their was a spate of prosecutions. Their was a time here in this region when the only cars other than my own that used headlamps at any time between lighting up hours was Volvo drivers and they had little choice. I have commented on a thread else were here in general cars concerning driving with fog-lights. The converse is true here at night with a high number of drivers using fog-lights at night when their is no fog, a blatant disregard of the law and of other road users. The standard of driving in GB and in this part of Wales in particular is outstandingly poor. I believe that driving licenses must be handed out wilily nilly when anyone reaches 17!

I dont think it is as cut and dried as that! Its not mentioned here;http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/TravelAndTransport/Highwaycode/DG_069859 The wipers and lights law is common place on Mainland Europe.
