Parrot 3100 disabled aux input?

Featured Replies

Anyone else had this problem? I picked up a 2nd hand Parrot 3100 bluetooth kit and paid someone to install it to make sure it was done right. The kit works great but I just did my first long trip since getting it and tried to plug in my Mp3 player to give me a bigger choice of music on the journey. And there is no input from the aux in socket (I tried disabling and then re enabling and even a different lead and MP3 player). Silence.

Are there different adaptor leads for Octys that didn't have the Aux in socket as opposed to those that do?

Obviously I'm going to call the installer but want to be armed with a bit of info before I do.

cheers

What the installer should do is use the Tel+ and Tel- connections on your head unit, what I suspect they have done is just used a rubbish tap cable which has removed your Aux ability.

If it was wired properly instead of the lazy way, then it would all work as it should plus you'd have call volume control via your head unit.

Cheers mate

sounds like he's done it the lazy way I don't have call volume control via the head unit. They did supply a pukka skoda adaptor cable (cost me £30). I take it the lazy method you describe means he's just taken a short cut?

Well yes I guess so, he's just used the adapter cables and relied on the Parrot kit's amp instead of the amp in the head unit, which would give you better quality sound and more control over the volume.

I've found with Parrot kits in the past that they aren't loud enough at motorway speeds and so I always wire to the proper input.
