Does it come with Cateye illumination ?

if you are talking off the led lights that some vw's and audi's have that shine down toward the gearstick/ centre consul i dont think so as i have just recieved my elegance with sunroof and am unable to get any light from the two small holes in roof light unit,

mate has audi with red illumination and thinks it may be possible to retro fit but yeti has green lighting also think mirror will get in way.

mine light up when sidelights are turned on...rather irratating at night imo'

Yeti "cats eyes" are white, and I think they are useful and really don't notice them.

There was a long thread about this in the past, and I think that sunroof cars don't get them.

yeah mine are white, but i notice em...good for finding our lasses thigh's in the dark whilst driving, :giggle: ...but at times do bother me, i was surprised when i first tried driving at night in the beasty in the summer( never seen em before, and wasnt sure of there legal issues)...but thats been sorted :dull:

I have a sunroof and alas no LED lights from up high. Peculiar. With them being so small and all...

aerofurb and myself came up with the theory that the closer proximity of the lights to the mirror on the velux versions may cause reflective issues :wonder:

TP

Indeed, TP. The lights are postioned right above the interior mirror. No doubt the roof panel is from the VAG parts bin, and just doesn't quite work with the Yeti installation. Shame because it would look pretty but in reality I've found locating the gear lever in the dark not to be too much of an issue.... emoticon-0105-wink.gif

[PS This is for a Velux Yeti with alarm!]

well looking at that photo, aerofurb, the holes in the centre panel are there.

at the front of the panel just in front of the light switches so i don't reckon there is a fitting space issue.

maybe just another skoda uk cost issue?

Has anyone found an alternative use for the sunglasses storage "box" yet? :smirk:

As I said, the panel is obviously a common VAG part - I do know where the light is supposied to come from... emoticon-0105-wink.gif

The reason it doesn't (in our opinion) is that, and it doesn't show clearly in my picture, that the lights (on a Yeti installation with alarm and sunroof) are right above the interior mirror. Other VAG machines no doubt have the mirror further forward or aft so it isn't a problem. All they would do is shine on the mirror.

I don't think cost saving comes into it - beyond using a panel common to other vehicles and Skoda aren't the only car manufacturer do do that, are they?

I don't have it in the Yeti, but in the Octy it was a good place to hide the remote for the garage door opener.

Ah yes I looked at this last night... Those empty LED spots are right above the mirror housing. Peculair that the VW source car's mirror sits so differently to the Yeti's. The Yeti's windscreen is not really THAT upright! It is in fact at about the same angle as my A2's!
