Auto Locking

Featured Replies

Can you enable auto-locking feature via maxidot? I can't find any options for it that seem meaningful.

The dealer had enabled this feature when I picked up the car but I must have made a few adjustments in maxidot and it's not working now. It's a VRS FL.

Matt

I did exactly the same thing in my LE gave up in the end trying to find it again after playing around within the Maxidot...asked the Dealers about it they said they could set it up to almost any preference I wanted..........decided to leave as it was...as I get changed into overall / coat from the boot on a regular basis I didnt want to leave my keys in my jacket just incase I locked them in the boot through the car auto-lock system

If the autolock option is missing under convienience, then you'll need a dealer or someone with VCDS to enable it.

You can find a local member with it in the diag forum.

You should be able to access this feature under convenience, but the car has to stand. Otherwise you are not able to access convenience.

The original settings that came on the car cant be found within the maxidot. I think I lost them when I pressed the factory re-set button while playing about within the maxidot. The only way you can get the original auto-lock settings back will be through the VCDS. As i mentioned there is many different options available depending on preferences. The auto-lock still works if the car is unlocked AND without opening any doors, then the car locks automatically after 30seconds or so. On the original settings the car locked itself regardless after 30 seconds whether a door was opened or not........hope that makes sense.

The option sounds dangerous anyway, with the chance of locking your keys in the car!

Totally agree...It was good to show people how the car locked itself but it would be so easy for the keys to be left in your pocket of your jacket inside the car. As long as the keys were in the ignition the car wouldnt lock thou

Eh?

The car autolocks the doors if the alarm is disabled, and the doors not opened. It wont activate itself otherwise.

The only way to lock keys in the car is when using the boot release, as as soon as the boot is closed, car re-locks.
