Hi Folks

New to a) BriSkoda and more importantly fixing the car myself. Can do the basics such as replace fuses, bulbs etc. but tend to get lazy after that and go to a garage. So anyway, thought I'd experiment and see if I can get some advice on the long-standing faults with our 2001 Y-Reg Skoda Octavia 1.9 TDi Elegance and maybe, just maybe save a few bob and fix them myself!

1) Centre Brake Light not working - stopped working ages ago and isn't the fuse, apparently it has now been disconnected to get through the MOT (where would a mechanic do that?) - so what are my options?

2) Rear screen heater stopped working too! Again not the fuse - so what are my options for this one?

3) Air conditioning now working - any top tips?

I know this above are very vague but I'm sure there's folks out there up for a challenge as I am. Just fed up spilling loads of money to someone where I reckon with a bit of luck and effort I can fix myself!
