Skoda bodyshop

Featured Replies

I went to the Horners Manchester bodyshop today to get an estimate on respraying the front spoiler, 3 small stone chips, and 2 light scrapes on the rear quarter, they quoted me

sure it aint a typo with an extra '0' as that is massive amounts of money

I just paid an independent bodyshop 280 quid for three panels doing.

Skoda quoted 848.50!

They'd probably end up spraying the whole panels, rather than just doing touchups, but yes, most of the work they do is via insurance hence the prices...try seeing what a decent independent place would charge...

It was definately 1300.

Your right rob they were going to repaint the front and side for a few minor scuffs and a scrape. I will have a look next week at independent garages.

You might find ChipsAway would be a good bet for that type of work - they won't respray the whole lot, and should be relatively cheap...

Chipsaway? Are they nationwide, i seem to recall a friend knowing someone who works for them.

They operate on a franchise basis...go to:

http://www.chipsaway.co.uk/repair/local-operator.asp

Phone/e-mail them your address, then they' get your nearest franchise to contact you to sort out a time to come and have a look at the car.

They'll give you a free quote/opinion anyway, so it's worth a shot... :)
