Should my Octy have an engine managment light (mine seems not to have one)

Featured Replies

My car is a MK 1 Octavia 1998 1.6 GLXi and there is no engine managment light, I have read a post from someone who has a MK1 Octavia VRS and they were saying their engine light is on so it just got me thinking if my car should have one.

I'm not too sure. The early Octavias had the Felicia AEE engine fitted, which in the Felicia did not have an engine light. If it is a conventional mechanical throttle, I suspect that it never had one.

Mine has the AEH Engine 1.6 SR not sure if it has a conventional mechanical throttle on it. Nothing in any documentation mentions an engine management light.
