Subaru To Skoda And Why Not

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Just a quick hello to you all. I currently have a 12 year old 110000 mile Subaru Impreza Turbo. Come its next MOT it will need new boots (best part of 800 quid) and an estimated 1000 quid to get through the MOT. The car is worth just over £2500 and those lovey people at Skoda offer me £3500 for it. A no brainer. Test drove a 1.6 SE diesel and really impressed. just shows how the latest cars have moved on.

Am thinking of getting a 1.6 SE estate (need the space as have a 46 kg greyhound added to the family) but have not driven the 2.0 or 1.9 litre diesels. What do you guys think?

By the way, what a great forum you have. Easy to use and friendly - I promise I'l keep the standard up.

Welcome to the forums

hi. you will find all the info ya need here.

Hello and welcome along.

Hello and welcome. I asume it's an Ocatavia that you're looking at.

Welcome, and have a good hard long look at the 1.9 :)

Welcome :)

Thanks to everyone for the welcome. Have just put my money where my mouth is, so as of today I have ordered a 1.9 Octavia SE TDI PD in White with Onyx interior. Add on's are a roof spoiler, sunset glass, dog guard (need it with our 7 stone greyhound sitting behind us),and some other various bits of bling. B) I did consider a diesel with PDF but as I gathered from the comments on the site this can be troublesome as I mainly do country road mileage and then only about 8000 a year. I am going to stick with the standard wheels for the time being. Again comments on the site say 17" wheels and low profile tyres spoil the comfy ride. May change to after market black wheels later!!!

They have estimated a first week in March delivery - the waiting will be the hardest thing. :p

Thanks again for the welcome.

What do you guys think?

I think you should post pics of the Greyhound :p

I have a couple of greys that weigh in at 26 kg and 32 kg, and if the weather holds picking up another in the morning, I think I need a bigger car than the fabia

Welcome btw ;)

Will post picture soon - once Xmas shopping is done he he.

Yeah, must admit one of the main reasons for the change is Thomas The Tank (racing name). He tries his best to fit into the back of the scoobie but can't do much mileage with him. Full marks to Simpsons (Gt Yarmouth) for the test drive including "yes take the dog for a drive as well.
