Hi can anyone help, can't find the answer on any other forum. Have a 2001 Octavia 4X4 turbo Estate, cannot open drivers door,

central locking all works OK, plunger rises on drivers door but cannot open it. Need to remove door trim but can't get to screws

with the door shut, anyone any ideas please, from what i've read tius sounds like a cable has broken somewhere but

unless I can get the door open I can't get the door trim off to fix it.

It could be a broken interior cable that is in such a position as to interfere with the operation of the outer handle. Can you hear any sound from the lock as the handles are operated?, you could try banging the lock are with your hand whilst operating the handles. On the other hand, in this weather the door could be frozen to the seal.

It is possible to remove the trim with the door shut, but it requires more work and time.
