pioneer F9110

Featured Replies

Anybody got the new pioneer F9110 bt ,be interesting to compare it with the columbus, skoda man tells me it has no post code availability.Looks the dog bo##ocks though.

Hey Simba, I've done quite a lot of research on the Pioneer units and what Skoda have told you is billy b*llsh*t. Even the most basic unit, the F310BT has postcode route planning - full 7 digits (IIRC Columbus is partial postcode).

The F9110 is exactly the same as the F910BT, but is designed to drop straight into the hole in your Skoda dash - to fit the F910BT you need a double-din adaptor. The F9110 also comes with the Canbus adaptor built in. However the F9110 is about £1100, whereas the F910BT is a lot cheaper and the two fitting bits are only about £40 each so fitting an F910BT is much much cheaper but looks slightly less OE.

However I have it on very good authority that all the units F310, F710, F910 and F9110 run EXACTLY the same software and have EXACTLY the same functionality, ableit that the F910 and F9110 can play DVD's. The only other difference is the screen size, the F310 has a 4.3" screen whilst all the others are about 7.6" I think.

Cheers pal, just wondered thats all,if and when I change my octy to go for the columbus again, pain in the ar#e without 7 digit though mines o/k but could be better and its about 2/3 hundred quid dearer than the pioneer.I still can't find in the pioneer spec about the 7 digit code.I suppose I could save 1k and go for the tom tom. There's food for thought.

If you take a look at the Pioneer website and download a copy of the instruction manual it talks about entering postcodes - but you're right it doesn't specifically mention it in the brief spec. I have used an F700BT in Halfords and know that it accepts postcodes !

My columbus, sw 1004 doesn't do postcodes, even partial ones! time to update I guess & take the risk re the battery drain issue.
