Brake Warning Light...

Featured Replies

My brake warning light in the middle of my cluster lit up today.... and extinguished itself when I took off the handbrake.... This is the first time in 6 months/10,000miles that it's ever worked....

Then 2 hours later as I got into the car it didn't work again :(

I'd quite like to get this light to work constantly as it also serves as an important reminder for low or empty brake fluid!

Any ideas why it started to work? I had filled my screenwash up and gave the bonnet a right good slam down...

Prehaps it's the sense onto of the brake fluid container that's loose, dodgy, needs a clean etc?

Any ideas?

If the light is out with the handbrake on, then it

sounds like the switch is sticking.....

I've checked the switch...

It moves fine, the spring is good and I've checked it with a multimeter all working fine.

The bulb was nice and bright when it was briefly working...

I tried unplugging the sensor from the top of the brake fluid container and starting the car...

But to no avail...

No warnings etc.

Any ideas?
