Photos & opinions of facelifted Scouts please....

Featured Replies

Hi guys, Im after some photos of the FL Scout - Im seriously considering a purchase of a fully loaded 1.8 TSi and I know Ive seen photos posted but for the life of me, I just cant find them now. Unless I was dreaming I remember seeing photos of an anthracite grey one posed very recently. Anthracite is top of the list so far so I'd be interested in any links/photos etc

I'd also be interested in any views from Scout owners on here too. :)

Thanks in advance.

Lee

I had a really nice guy order a utterly loaded (every option bar sunroof) Scout 1.8TSi FL in Black Magic off me earlier this year. With Scout I always advise going for a slightly lighter colour because I think it looks better with the grey bumpers standing out some more.

But... This black one looked really nice and I think it's actually one of the best colours for it now.

Sadly I haven't got any photos of it and I haven't seen him back with it at all.

Ta da.

If you want a picture of what it looks like coated mainly in frozen mud and salt I can pop out with the camera if you like.

My opinion is biased, but I reckon this is probably the best car I have had since my A3 Quattro of 1999 Vintage. Even the wife loves it more than her Mini.

I like the fire engine red and ambulance white ones. But alas, they look like.... you get the idea.

I was tempted by a lighter colour, especially the beige - only once I got the car was I convinced I had made the right choice.

Turners of Erlestoke had an Anthracite FL TDI Scout Demo in when I picked mine up. They may still have it.

T of E went a long way to convincing me of the merits of the Scout, it fairly rural out there and they sell a lot to Vets - on that basis I was sold on both the quality and the capability.

I had a Cappuccino demo Scout (not a FL) many moons ago when they first launched and it looked really good. I think white ones look good especially if they are covered in mud and dirt.

Blimey guys - I only posted in the last hour! Thanks very much indeed.

So far Im thinking it has to be Grey for me but maybe with the silver roof bars (to match the front and rear silver valances)??

James - mine would also be fully loaded bar the sunroof - if you can match DTD pricing please feel free to PM me and I would put the business to a Briskoda sponsor in preference. :)

Thanks and please keep the photos coming. :)

Lee

I can never match those deals but I can usually get pretty close, to within a couple of percent usually.

I'll send you a PM anyway to see if we can do something.

There was a Anthracite VRS Combi posted up in the last week or so that has silver roof rails..... I prefer the black ones (to match the arches) personally, though I did nearly order the silver ones (I nearly ordered a lot of things).

The Valences (painted plastic, not Alu) are not as shiny as the roof bars would be.

Hi Lee,

My new Scout arrived last weekend 1.8TSI Anthracite with Silver Roof Rails and a few other goodies, looks great, no photoes at the moment car currently sat under a frozen snow drift on my drive.

Happy Christmas to all,

Senior Scout.

as for opinions

Mr clarkson thinks it the best family car on the market right now..he even thinks it makes more sense than an A4

Sorry, mate, I disagree - yes I wanted a Red one, but the Storm Blue one you supplied has really grown on me as it looks more understated and stealth-like...

As for pics, not a FL but fully loaded emoticon-0102-bigsmile.gif -

So… very… shiny…

Actually it would be interesting to get feedback from someone who moved from a VRS to a Scout (TSI).

We have a pre-FL Scout in Satin Grey (pretty much looks light blue) and its lovely. Really nice colour for this car. Overall I would say the Scout is a top car - practical, comfortable, great to drive and handles well in pretty much all conditions (including the recent snow and ice!). When we come to replace the Scout (not gonna happen for a while yet though!) we'll no doubt look at getting another one!
