Hello all,

Have owned a mkII octy vrs pd tdi for the last 18mths now and although its not at all modded its proved itself to be reliable, cheap to run and great fun to drive (only downside is its black, so yes i am forever trying to keep it clean!!).

Well me and the missus liked the vrs that much we decided to buy this one; http://www.skoda.net.r66.co.uk/carview.aspx?id=600778575 taking delivery in a couple of weeks time cant wait! (this one also has revo mapping on it).

So now we are on the second vrs thought it was overdue me signing up to be a member of this site, loads of great info on here guys keep up the good work!

Ps happy new year to all !!!

Welcome, and enjoy your new wheels :)

Welcome to the site - and as stated above, thanks for taking away any doubts I might have had in changing my car

I've had a test drive in that car, and it is very, very nice - keep us posted as to how it goes :)

Thanks guys, sorry to Brimma we got wind of this car 2 weeks before it was even road registered and were lucky enough to get several hrs road test in it while our current one was having service at Horton skoda. ( we even got to drive it before Oliver Horton). When we got back to collect ours Oliver was waiting to pick this up on his day off!!

We put our name down there and then for first refusal on it.

Having been fortunate enough to have drive both the manual and dsg diesel, I have to say in my opinon that the dsg improves the performance from the diesel engine no end.

Will keep you all posted and once again sorry to those who had their eye on this one.

Thanks guys, sorry to Brimma

Don't be sorry

I'm a little surprised they even gave me a quote on it with a virtually done deal already on it, but I suppose they need to cover all the bases in case anything falls through.

If you are local I might see you around :)

Enjoy

Thats just my nature I know how I would feel if I had my eye on something and it had already been offered to someone else without them letting on, but as you say I guess they needed to have a fall back incase we said no.

Unfortunately we are from Grimsby (someone has to be), But would like to try and get to a meet sometime to get to know fellow skoda owners and to see what mods they been doing etc.

Your vrs from youe description sounds pretty similar to this anyway only its the estate version, do you not like the estate? Never tried one myself always been a hatch fan.

No, the estate is great - possibly more airy than the hatch as well due to the lack of the thick rear pillars, and extra rear glass.

Mine has got a few 'standard' bits of kit missing for some reason, even though it is a CR DSG, so I think I just got a bit carried away with the extra toys on yours, plus the fitted Eibachs and black wheels. Didn't realise that it had been Revo'd, but then I took it very gently on my relatively short test drive a few months ago.

I found the same thing with our current 170 pd tdi hatch its as you say 'missing a couple of bits' such as electric rear windows ( i get fed up of the kids winding them up and down no matter what the weather outside is doing),cruise, climate control etc ( we came from a Saab 93 to the vrs and i do miss all the 'extras' the saab had fitted, but i certainly dont miss the poor reliability.

Not sure when they did the revo, it hadn't been done when we took it out as Oliver told us that it would have revo upgrade on it when it came up for sale.

I just hope th dsg proves to be reliable after warranty runs out, still have a few years to put some rainy day money to one side just incase.
