Well lads!

Basically i tried to start my fabia vrs last night. The engine management light stayed on, 'INSP' flashing on the little screen below the speedo, and the car wouldnt turn over!

For a couple of days before, there was a hesitation before the car actually turned whenever i turned the key.

Is this a common fault of some sort? Anyone have any idea what it could be?

the "INSP" warning wont stop the car from running, it just needs resetting, details in owners manual

as for your none start, assuming the battery is ok, it could be the thin wire onto the starter motor, this wire basically makes the starter turn over but has a habit of breaking due to excessive tightness between the loom and the starter

I had a sort of similar problem, one morning it would start the next it wouldn't, then it would again, always first thing in the morning the problem arose.

A new ignition switch (£15) fixed the problem.
