hi all, ive spotted 2 octy vrs cars on a forecourt and both are the same price. 1st is black on an 02 plate with 123k on the clock and partial service history, looks like its going to need all 4 tyres replacing soon and front bumper is cracked and there are a couple of small screw holes in the dash. its got reverse sensors and cruise control which i believe were optional extras? the other is silver on a Y with 130k on the clock and full service history, its got 4 nearly new toyo tyres but no optional extras. which would you guys choose? the black 1 thats newer got less mileage and optional extras but needs tlc or the silver 1 thats got very good matching tyres, full service history but isn't as well equipped? cheers

Hi bodace

Its difficult to say without seeing them, but if its down to the tyre's and the bumper, tell the guy who is selling it to replace the tyres, and bumper, or reduce the screen price to

take into you getting the bits done.

It would not be too expensive to get a s/h bumper and get it sprayed, and I prefer Black !

Now you have asked the audience I think you should do 50/50 !

I'd personally go for the one with the best history. The Silver car sounds like its been cared for better with a full history and all matching tyres.

I'll always pick quality over options, mileage and age.

Silver one sounds like the better package from your description.

The black one - sounds neglected, walk away and avoid trouble.

The silver one - at that age and mileage you will only get value from a private sale (from outside of the Briskoda 'bubble'!).

I'd wait and keep looking.

Yep, me too. Always buy on condition and history.
