welcome to briskoda. if i had to choose i would have the superb because it has more power than the honda

Welcome to Briskoda chief ;)

It'll have to be the Superb for me. It's a fantasic drive, with very comfortable interior. It fills in potholes as it goes, looks good and goes like stink

Hey and welcome along to the site  Sent reply to your PM, am wondering about the Honda 2.2 auto, as I cant see it listed on the Honda.ie web site, do they sell the car here? What price they asking for it if they do? Have you tried to get a test drive of each car yet? (I know usually in Ireland they have a basic car from each range to test and expect you to know what the better equiped / engined car will be like  )

The Honda looks quite nice, BUT,, €39k for a 09 car? when a brand new 170 DSG Elegance Superb lists at €35.5k and is far better speced than the Honda, I know what I would be getting between the two of them :giggle:

Dont mind the asking Price

I am considering importing a Honda Accord CDTI Auto top Spec from UK this would have very simaler Spec to Superb and I could get one with say 8000mls in for about 30000

The only thing thats stopping me getting the superb is the fear of the residuals

I think the honda is a beauty and will sell better secondhand but I Like the superb oh **** what to Do?????

The Superb is in a different league to the Honda. The Honda is nice, but has a small boot, not that much interior space, and the engine whilst good, is a bit underwhelming.

The Superb would be my choice by a country mile, and I've driven both :)

Hi again Myles

Yes you can pick up an EX Accord for £20000 (€22000), bring it in for about €9000, BUT, while well equiped is not as well equiped as the Superb, it will be a 09 car as against a 10 reg, and come trade in time some dealers still have a thing against UK imports. Also the speedo will read in mph not kph. So as for residuals I think the extra yr MIGHT make up for the badge differance (but DONT take my word for that lol)

Or look at a Superb import. 170 DSG Elegance bought for same price of £20000 as the honda can be brought in for €7000 - and UK cars are on 18" wheels where Irish car have 17's, tho may not have the park assist or heated rear seats like the Irish cars, but then neither will the Honda, worth thinking about?
