Changing units on Trio computer - help

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Wondered if anyone could tell me how to change the "current" speed register on my standard trip computer on my new VRS to MPH rather than KM/H, cant spot how to do it in the manual, unless I am being blind.

Cheers!

And yes I cant spell trip! :)

I'd be interested in this myself - except I want to change from the UK spec mph, mpg, miles to the Irish spec km/h, l/100km, km...

On the facelift octavia it is not possible to change the central display from km/h to mph. The reason being its a EU directive that cars sold in the UK must show KM/H and MPH, because skoda have removed the km/h markings from the speedo it MUST be shown elsewhere on the dash, and they have chosen a digital readout in the center.

Sorry to thread hijack...

There is also an MPH display on the trip computer (FL, non-maxidot), that looks like it should display the current MPH reading in the centre, but it just displays blank ( --- ) for me. The average MPH reading works (I think, need to double check), but real time MPH doesn't. I find the speedo annoying/useless as it's graduated in 20, 40, 60, 80 mph so doesn't clearly show 30, 50, 70 mph.

The MPH --- thing is a speed bong (!) that can be set to your current speed.

Interesting about the Speedo graduations as on the vRS I have just taken delivery of it shows them in 10s up to 80 but then jumps in 20s (ie: 50, 60, 70, 80, 100, 120) - but in the same space on the speedo so unless you watch carefully you're doing 100 when you might think it was 90 :S

Ah, thanks foo

Hmm, thought I'd set this up to tell me if I got a reply, guess not! :)

Cheers for the reply, I actually had to nip into the dealership and asked them and got told the same EU bit. Same with the running lights apparently, lights on required when driving. Still its bobbins, I dont work in KmPH and would like the gucci little display in MPH, but cant have everything eh! :)
