Polish/Wax for winter.

Featured Replies

After polishing swmbo's Yaris 2 weeks ago I thought it was time to give the Octy a seeing to as winter has landed. No before pics sorry but you can imagine the sort of dirt build up we get as this time of year....

So off to the sheds at work on my day off to have somewhere nice and dry to work in. The process was as follows

Washed with 2 BM Megs Gold Class, then rinsed.

AG tar remover on the tar spots then washed again.

Clayed with Megs clay kit.

Kestrel DA machine polished with Menz final finish.

Dodo Juice Lime'd.

AG Gloss protector.

Collinite 476.

Megs tyre shine.

Windows cleaned with AG fast glass then Rain X'd.

To leave the following.

I've found my paint (metallic stone) confuses the camera white balance, and I have to set it myself manually (i.e. set it to the sunny or cloudy preset, or manually set it using a grey card). I imagine putting a large blue object in the frame would throw the auto white balance off a bit, so if you can manually set it to the appropriate pre-set ...

Yeah good point that. In normal bright or sunny weather a good pic is easy, but the dullness that day wasn't helpful.

Looks nice

As a random Q, but are those directional tyres running the correct way as the tread pattern looks like it's backwads.

Yep those are Toyo T1-R's fitted correctly. It leaves a pattern pointing where it's been as the 'tip' of the tread in the centre touches first and then the tread pattern will push the water out to the edges of the tyre.
