How do I tell which Octavia I have?

Sorry for such a daft sounding question, but apart from the fact I know I have a PD 170 vRS, I am unsure how I tell if it is a Mk. I or II - Manufactured March 08, if that is any help? I also see mentioned 1Z now and then - what does this refer to?

Its a MK2 pre facelift, the PD170 was only available in the MK2 vRS.

The Mk1 was petrol only. And they look completely different. That gives it away :)
