Anyone retro fitted the bolero unit in place of the standard stream mp3 unit...wanna get one but not sure if they directly plug in or not...

Also can it connect to the CD Changer and the parking sensors...

Depends on what year the Octavia is and what Bolero is used.

Heard from several problems.

There a 2 different Boleros. One from a superb that has the same framesize as a Columbus and the Bolero from a facelifted Octavia that has the framesize of the old Stream.

Also heard that it can give problems with the soundsystem (12 speaker with amp) and depends on the gateway.

Dont know the details, as it wasnt of any interest for me.

Just beware, you dont want to buy a brick.

Maybe some other users can state this. (otherwise I will have to find some more information in the German boards).

both style boleros can be fitted, i've fitted a superb bolero to an octavia with no problems that im aware of but theres nothing to say this is always the case

Ebay is generally the best place to get a unit but id make sure you get one from a buyer you can meet face to face and make sure you pay through paypal for some extra protection. At least then if you buy a brick you can get your money back

So are you saying guys that if I get hold of a bolero unit, I could take my stream unit out, plug in the bolero and slide it in and everything will work including the parking display? If thats the case, where can I get a cheap one because they are £695 from Skoda?

Should work but I dont think you get the reverse graphics working in a pre-fl car with the bolero. Doesnt work with columbus.

You wont miss the graphics anyway, on my columbus I missed them for 5 seconds. When reversing you should be looking in your mirrors anyway and not at the stereo. You still get the beeps, just as you did before though.

Had a look at the listing ,and it seems a bit odd that he wont give chassis number to get code or is there a simple explanation for this,as a Bolero would be a good upgrade for my Stream but will give that one a miss ,although it seems a good price.

On what? Not in a Bolero you cant, it doesnt have any nav ability.

and what about gateway change? MY2007 needs to change gateway!!!

After loads of research am going to go for the Columbus unit.

Have found a couple of companies who will do the work. One is called OEM Retrofits.

Does anyone have experience of them at all, maybe used them in the past etc?

When you say you just need to upgrade the controller, what do you mean by "controller" as ive just fitted one to my 57 plate octy everythink works exept the parking sensor graphics, How do you get them working please, also ive heard about some fattening the battery cos of battery drain, someone said you need a my2007 gateway mine is a 08 chassis should i be ok?

Controller means parking sensor ECU.

To get the parking sensors working in the columbus display you need a new parking sensor ECU and need to add a couple of wires for the CAN connection.

You CAN gateway will be OK in a57 plate car.

So you have to change this :-
