Hi everyone, purchased a new Octavia Hatchback 1.8 TSI L&K DSG on 28 December 2009.

Very nippy!

Getting to grips with the new settings etc. so may have some questions if I can't work things out.

Ordered mid September (with VAT free and 2 years interest free - too good an offer to miss!) and was originally quoted 12 week delivery, but because of the popularity here and in Germany it was then delayed by:

1) Skoda changing their computer systems (?) and

2) because of the type of engine.

We chose Aqua Blue metallic with the standard leather which is a very nice combination.

I test drove an L&K in early September (May registration and only c100 miles) but they wanted more than a brand new one due to the VAT free offer!

I decided to wait and ordered from a Skoda dealer in East London who gave me a good deal on the price and did a px for my 51 plate Peugeot 607.

The L&K is a smaller car and engine (which pleases my wife!), but significantly quicker.

Very nice - same colour combination as my order (except no DSG) Only options I ordered were MDI and the spare (what size did you get?)

Week 2 build slot at the mo so hopefully early Feb - however may see if it can be delayed to '10' day

I also decided on a full steel spare - seems stupid not having one as a standard, but is it to do with carrying extra weight around perhaps for the very rare instance that you get a puncture?

Other extras were front parking sensor and tyre pressure monitoring.

Not sure how you insert a picture in this forum. No option to "upload" - just offers an http address. Any ideas?
