Cruise control retrofitting

Featured Replies

Santa claus had suddently decided i was a good little boy and so, under the tree i found the "old" laptop of my brother togheter with the Vag-com

It didn' take long until i succesfully activated DRL Usa style (dimmed at 60%) and auto lock/unlock of the doors.

I'm now thinking about retrofitting the cruise control, (as i can activate it via VAG), on the net you find loads of complete kits (lever + wires) but the question is:

How does i know if my car is " cruise control ready"??

I noticed several kits are intended for Octies after 07/2005, i own a 12/2004 Octy II 1.6 MPI Ambiente.

Thanks in advance for any help

Your early Octavia will almost certainly need the additional wire to the ECU.

1.6 Ambiente might not have the correct steering controller, do you have an onboard computer?
