Standard manifold

Featured Replies

Some time in the next couple of months i shall be fitting a painted (but still standard) inlet manifold,

was just wondering wether there is anything i could do to improve it? DIY or by a pro, i have no idea

cheers

fit the old newsouth intake gasket while your manifold off, meant to make the intake temps abit cooler, which always helps, got one on mine seems ok, never had no problems

cheers buddy, ill get ordering that pronto (although ive also just ordered a standard one from skoda, whoops.

as far as im aware there isnt really much you can do to improve the,

you can port match it with the gasket you get and you can give it a polish on the runners i have done it on mine and for something that takes an hour its worth it gain wise not sure but can only help as the runners are not smooth at the point of injection and porting to the size of the gasket means no steps so good flow

p.s look at the gasket badger 5 sells it meant to be much better than the newsouth one and the same price

i dont suppose that you have any pics of what you did mate?

it will be the 1st time ive ever removed a manifold from any car, so i really have no idea what its all gona look like once off etc,

My car knowledge is pretty much limited to the stuff ive learnt while replacing all the parts listed in my sig!! and a few other bits on a friends rover coupe.
